Construction Notice: Saltville Water System Improvements (Phase 1) (WSL-025-18) The Saltville Water System Improvements (Phase 1) project is administered by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and is wholly funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The project includes the construction of approximately 10,060 linear feet of 3/4-, 1-, 2-, 6- and 8-inch diameter water lines and related appurtenances to replace failing water distribution system components. The purpose of the project is to reduce the potential for conditions favorable to the entrance of contaminants into the distribution system and to improve water system reliability and efficiency. Saltville Water Line Replacement Project (WSL-007-23) The Saltville Waterline Replacement Project is administered by the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) and is wholly funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The project includes the construction of approximately 1,230 linear feet of 3/4-, 1-, and 2-inch diameter water lines and related appurtenances. The project will reduce the number of lead goosenecks and will replace aging galvanized steel pipes prone to corrosion related failures. The purpose of the project is to reduce the potential for lead exposure and to reduce the potential for conditions favorable to the entrance of contaminants into the distribution system.
